That's fucking crazy about the murders. It's like the sanctioned hunts of Aboriginals not so long ago in Queensland. The shadows of your wonderful country.
Two gay men were shot dead last year by an ex-lover of one of them.
No guesses as to what the murderer did for a job! He even checked his gun out of the Surry Hills NSW Police station that night and nobody seemed to flag him down?
A few years ago, a group of youths baited a gay man on Grindr to meet them in bushland and then murdered him.
They got a few years in Juvie.
Both of these crimes happened in good old Sydney! I love Sydney, but jeez, there’s something amiss in that city with police.
The blue mist of bigotry, Sydney has the worst police-gay community relations in Australia. I don’t live there but I’ve visited a lot, and the tension is THICK.
Police hang out near gay bars with sniffer dogs and it’s just wild, every LGBTQ+ person knows what to say (they’ve learned the legal lingo and ask for badge numbers and record cops when they’re approached) yet in Melbourne, where I live, there’s no issue at all with police?!
In fact, Victoria Police had one of the highest LGBTQ+ recruitment drives last year, meanwhile in New South Wales (Sydney’s the capital) police were banned from marching in the Mardi Gras parade?!

Oh! Excellent!
Thank you!
Powerful piece, Edward! Thank you for giving voice to these stories. 😊
Thank you so much, Misbah!
Powerful stuff, Edward. Beautiful fluidity of words, that sadly paint an ugly picture.
This injustice is unacceptable, and the crimes - evil incarnate. It makes me sick. 😢
And most are still cold cases to this day :(.
😢😡
Love how you whisper 'silence' in the audio. It rings so loudly in the blue mist.
